TheDaak Weekly is envisaged to be a space where diverse and if necessary, contradictory voices are articulated – all in pursuit of facilitating reasoned debate. A weekly publication, it’s intended to engage with issues, ideas and experiences that concern the present social, cultural, political and economic zeitgeist.
Guidelines for Submissions
- Submissions can be in the form of opinion pieces, commentaries, informative articles and essays, engaging critically with an issue of contemporary relevance.
- TheDaak also invites ‘EXPLAINERS’ from time to time on questions of legislative, economic and scientific relevance. A typical explainer may not necessarily be an argument but try to present facts, history, debates if any. For queries on EXPLAINERS, you may write at editor@thedaak.in
- As long as the piece under question makes logical and reasoned arguments, its ideological contours are unlikely to determine the editorial decision.
- The pieces shouldn’t be more than 900 words. Exceptions will be made in case a particular piece deserves more space to drive its point home.
- TheDaak has no objection to authors republishing or revising their articles for other publications. However, the re-published article must explicitly state that the part of/all of the piece first appeared at TheDaak with the website link.
- All submissions are acknowledged within 3-4 days. Typically you should hear back from us in less than 6 weeks, failing which we would request you to consider sending your contribution elsewhere.
- The author shall be consulted before making any revisions or edits to the original piece.
- Furthermore, consent of the author(s) at TheDaak shall be asked for, before reproducing any article (or a part thereof) published on the Daak, by any third party.
- Submissions shall be made by clicking on the link here.
- The submission should be made in word file and also include a two-line biography of the author at the end of the piece.
