Call for Submissions
TheDaak is very happy to announce that we are expanding and we have introduced some new verticals.
In this regard, welcome to ‘Lives Lived’– a vertical dedicated exclusively to autobiographies, biographies and memoir: memoirs
The books under review in this vertical will be published on a rolling basis. We aim to publish reviews of the books dealing with the lives of people, hopefully to learn but also to reflect on the art of writing on/about lives as they were lived.
We accept original contributions that have not been published or accepted to be published elsewhere.
We do not necessarily review only recently published books.
Book reviews should ideally be 1200-1500 words. In case where the piece demands more, we are willing to make exceptions but as a matter of rule, we may ask you to revise your writing to fit the word limit.
Receipt of submissions is acknowledged by e-mail within a week. However, the acknowledgment of receipt is not a guarantee of publication.
Each submission will go through a double-blind peer review process and the decision for the same would be communicated to the contributor. Any edits and revisions to the contributions would be made/asked to be made with the prior consent of the contributor.
TheDaak has no objection to authors republishing or revising their articles for other publications. However, the re-published article must mention that the book review first appeared at TheDaak with the website link.
Elsewhere, no published article on TheDaak or part thereof should be reproduced by any third party in any form without prior permission of the author(s) at TheDaak.
Please send submissions to submission@thedaak.in with the word file inclusive of the contributor’s name, email address for correspondence, and one-line contributor note stating current designation and affiliation. Each submission should clearly state, ‘Lives lived Submission‘ in the subject line of the email.We may include the provided email address in the contributor note along with the publication.
We request that the details of the book under review should be added to the word file itself in the following manner:
[Book: Title by author, place, publisher, year, pages, dimensions, ISBN, price]
Please also include a declaration of originality of the content and that your submission is not pending with any other publisher. On acceptance, the contributor will be required to sign a consent form for publication at TheDaak’s website.
