Richa Miglani is a fourth-year undergraduate student of Political Science at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. Her research interests lie in gender and kinship, with a particular focus on matrilineal societies in South and Southeast Asia. She is currently working on a comparative study examining the variations and commonalities across matrilineal systems and their implications for women’s authority and social organisation. Her broader academic interests include feminist political economy, informal labour, and the relationship between kinship institutions and development. Through her work, she seeks to critically examine assumptions about matriliny, empowerment, and economic participation in a regional and comparative perspective.
