Sanchari Chakraborty is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Development Studies, Kolkata. Her PhD work examines the ways in which the twin forces of hunger and the unavailability of desired quantities of food shaped the contours of citizen-state interactions in the early years of the Indian Republic. She is working as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata.
