TheDaak-Thematic is published six times a year. Each issue is curated around a specific theme. Book reviews dealing with socio-political, cultural, historical and legal analysis on autobiographies, anthologies, fiction, academic books, poetry (indicatively) are all welcome. The aim is to put together an issue where the books speak to each other, against each other and even with each other.
- We welcome original contributions that have not been published or accepted to be published elsewhere.
- We publish analytical and creative book reviews that engage with significant aspects of a book.
- We encourage book reviews which are reflective and written with hitherto unexplored point(s) of view.
- We do not publish mere summaries of books.
- We do not necessarily review recently published books.
Book reviews should ideally be 1200-1500 words. In case where the piece demands more, we are willing to make exceptions but as a matter of rule, we may ask you to revise your writing to fit the word limit.
